T.V. Varughese Ph.D.

Dr. T. V. Varughese (pronounced WERG-EES) is one of world's leading specialists in international ministry with more than 25 years of experience in ministry in the church and in Christian missions in the areas of evangelism, discipleship, and leadership training.  He is a native of Kerala, India, and was raised in a Christian home as the son of a pastor in the Church of South India.  He committed his life to Christ at an early age and became active in Christian education. 

He received undergraduate degrees in science, astronomy, and education and a masters degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Kerala.  In 1971 he received a second masters degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Indiana University, USA, where he later served on the faculty.  He has taught in India, Ghana, and in the U.S.A. 

For over 10 years he served full time in the international ministry, sharing the Good News with university students from around the world who are studying in the USA, and discipling them.  He also trained many across America to do the same ministry.  In his seminary education at masters level at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Illinois, he specialized in systematic theology, philosophy of religion, and apologetics.  He has conducted seminars on international ministry in Urbana Mission conferences.

For the next seven years Dr. Varughese served as head of the math department at Christian Heritage College in California and as adjunct faculty in the graduate school of the Institute for Creation Research, San Diego, CA.  Following that he served for 10 years as Associate Professor and head of the computer science and math departments of the Orange County regional campus of National University, California, while continuing in the ministry. 

He is the founder and president of International Discipleship Ministries Inc., and has authored its Ministry Leadership Institute's MasterDesign for Life courses for discipleship and equipping which are being offered in the U.S. and in the 10-40 nations.  Since June 2003 he is full time in the ministry.
Dr. Varughese has also served as an adjunct faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary in the School of Missions, teaching the ministry training courses for a Masters degree in Campus Ministries.

He and his wife Mariam have traveled in many countries of the world.  They have one daughter Susha who is married to Cameron Roberts, and have four grand children (Stephanie, Samantha, Jessica, and David).
